Weather Woes: Himachal's Persistent Road Blockages Amid Rain Warnings

Despite dry weather in the past three days, 23 roads remain closed in Himachal Pradesh, as the state grapples with infrastructure challenges, officials reported.
The local meteorological office has issued warnings for heavy rainfall in districts like Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur, and cautioned about thunderstorms and lightning across six districts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rainfall deficits have varied across the region, with Lahaul and Spiti experiencing a 69% deficit. The state has seen economic losses amounting to Rs 1,331 crore, and 177 people have died in rain-related incidents this monsoon season, officials confirmed.
Significantly higher than normal temperatures have also been recorded, further complicating the situation.
