Heavy Rains Disrupt Telangana: Traffic Snarls and Water Logging Reported
Hyderabad and parts of Telangana experienced heavy rainfall on Monday evening, causing water stagnation and traffic disruptions. GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata advised caution and urged residents to stay indoors unless necessary. The IMD forecasts continued heavy rain and thunderstorms in various districts through September 25.

Hyderabad and parts of Telangana received heavy rainfall on Monday evening, significantly disrupting normal life with water stagnation and traffic snarls reported in several areas.
The Telangana Development Planning Society reported that the Kodandapuram Water Plant in Pedda Adiserlapalle mandal of Nalgonda district received 71 mm of rainfall between 0830 hours to 2000 hours on Monday. Velijala in Ranga Reddy district saw 52.5 mm of rainfall. In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas, Alkapuri Community Hall and Rock Town colony recorded 47 mm of rain.
GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata cautioned that authorities remain alert and direct emergency teams to address water stagnation issues. She also urged residents to go out only for emergencies, according to a GHMC release.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more heavy rain and thunderstorms in isolated places across several districts from September 23 to September 25, including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, and Hyderabad.
