Germany and India are set to deepen their partnership in the realms of renewable energy, urban development, mobility, and agroecology, ahead of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's visit to India. Key discussions were held between India's Department for Economic Affairs and Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, emphasizing enhanced collaboration in these crucial sectors.

Both nations have agreed to sustain their efforts in these areas under the 'Partnership for Green and Sustainable Development,' established in 2022 following bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor Scholz. The collaboration is strategically guided to achieve substantive results, including the construction of 7,700 kilometres of modern transmission lines and various metro projects in India, backed by German co-financing.

Germany has pledged more than Euros 1 billion this year toward these collaborative efforts, with funds allocated for renewable energy, energy distribution, urban development, and climate-resilient agriculture, among other sectors. This commitment underscores Germany's dedication to fulfilling international obligations and achieving tangible outcomes through its partnership with India.
