IMD Issues Red and Orange Alerts in Uttar Pradesh Amid Heavy Rainfall Warnings

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded the alarm for several districts in Uttar Pradesh, issuing red and orange alerts as heavy rainfall is forecasted over the next 48 hours.
Both Mathura and Agra have been placed under a red alert, signifying extreme weather preparedness. Additionally, over a dozen other districts have received orange alerts.
The red alert for Mathura and Agra is in effect from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning, with similar warnings for Farrukhabad, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, and Shahjahanpur from Thursday to Friday.
Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar stated that local administrative bodies have been instructed to remain alert and ensure that the National and State Disaster Response Forces are on standby for any emergencies.
