Norwegian police have ruled out human involvement in the death of the beluga whale known as Hvaldimir, found dead on Aug. 31.

The whale, discovered five years ago with a harness around its neck, had a stick lodged in its mouth.

Named Hvaldimir as a combination of the Norwegian word for whale and the first name of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the whale's body was discovered by a father and son fishing in southern Norway.
