Bihar to Construct 1000 New Bridges in Rural Areas
The Bihar government has approved the construction of around 1000 small bridges in rural areas under the 'Mukhyamantri Gramin Setu Nirman Yojana'. This decision was made in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Additionally, three five-star hotels with shopping malls will be built in Patna under a public-private partnership.

The Bihar government has announced the construction of around 1000 small bridges in rural areas under the 'Mukhyamantri Gramin Setu Nirman Yojana'. This decision aims to improve infrastructure following the collapse of many such structures in recent times.
Approved in a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the project will be overseen by the Rural Works Department and Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited. Bridges up to 100 meters in length will be prioritized for construction, according to Additional Chief Secretary (Cabinet Secretariat) S Siddharth.
Further, the Cabinet has also approved amendments to the Mukhya Mantri Gramin Sadak Unnayan Yojana to connect all-weather roads to all rural habitations and repair roads in need. Moreover, three five-star hotels along with shopping malls will be built in Patna under a public-private partnership on the land of Ashok Patliputra Hotel, Sultan Palace, and Bankipur bus stand premises.
