Vietnam faces severe repercussions from Typhoon Yagi, which has resulted in at least 59 fatalities and significant disruptions in its northern industrial zones, state media reported.
The catastrophe began when Typhoon Yagi made landfall on Saturday, quickly turning into a tropical depression. Floods and landslides have compounded the devastation, endangering lives and crippling local businesses.
A passenger bus carrying 20 individuals was washed away in a landslide, and a bridge collapse over the Red River in Phu Tho province left multiple vehicles submerged, with numerous people still missing. The disaster has led to considerable damage in industrial sectors and disrupted power supply in Haiphong and Quang Ninh provinces.
