The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member committee to probe the building collapse incident in Lucknow that resulted in eight fatalities and left 28 others injured.

The committee, formed under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will be chaired by Sanjiv Gupta, a secretary in the home department. Balkar Singh and Vijay Kanaujia, from the Housing and Urban Planning Department and Public Works Department respectively, are the other members.

Tasked with investigating the cause of the incident, the committee is expected to submit its report to the government as soon as possible.
