Five individuals lost their lives and 28 others sustained injuries when a three-storey building in the Transport Nagar area of Uttar Pradesh collapsed on Saturday evening, officials reported.

The building, constructed four years ago, housed several godowns and a motor workshop. Approximately 4:45 pm, the structure gave way while some construction work was ongoing. Most victims were on the ground floor during the collapse.

Efforts to rescue any remaining survivors continue, with teams from both the National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force on-site. Authorities have accounted for most occupants, but search operations are still active to ensure no one else remains trapped under the debris.
