Typhoon Yagi wreaked havoc in northern Vietnam, claiming the lives of four individuals and injuring 78 others after making landfall Saturday afternoon.
Vietnamese meteorological officials have described Yagi as "one of the most powerful typhoons in the region over the past decade." Before reaching Vietnam, the storm resulted in three fatalities and nearly a hundred injuries in China's Hainan province.
Authorities issued several alerts prior to the typhoon's arrival, leading to evacuations in areas susceptible to floods or landslides. Additionally, four airports, including those in the capital city Hanoi and Haiphong, were temporarily closed.
