Amid escalating fears of wolf attacks, residents in Mahsi area of Bahraich recently killed a dog they believed had attacked three villagers.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ajit Pratap Singh informed reporters that forest workers, responding to a report of an animal attack on Sangam Lal, son of local resident Maikoolal, in village Yadavpur, found no wolf footprints.

On Friday, another attack was reported from the same village, targeting Kriparam (65) and his grandson Satyam (4). Villagers beat the animal to death, mistaken it for a wolf. Forest workers later identified the dead animal as a dog, with injured individuals confirming it had attacked them.
