In Uttar Pradesh, villagers took matters into their own hands after a jackal attacked three individuals, including a child, on Wednesday night. The incident occurred in Kutulpur village, where the victims, Jitendra, his daughter Meenu, and Ram Lakhan, were promptly rushed to the hospital. The local community swiftly retaliated by surrounding and killing the animal with sticks. Police later handed the carcass to the forest department.

This recent event follows a troubling pattern, as it marks the third jackal killing in just two days. On Tuesday, villagers in Hamirpur district killed a jackal that had entered a home and attacked several people. Similarly, on Wednesday, residents of Khojpur village in Kaushambi district killed a jackal after it attacked another three people, including a child.

The situation has escalated to include fears of suspected wolf attacks in Bahraich and its surrounding areas, where eight people have been killed, and more than 35 injured. In response, Uttar Pradesh Forest Minister Arun Saxena has instructed the capture of these attacking animals. Additionally, nine shooters have been deployed in the Bahraich forest area on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Amid this ongoing man-animal conflict in Mahasi tehsil of Bahraich district, the state government has declared the region a 'wildlife disaster' affected area.
