Continuous rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh, leading to the closure of 119 roads, including two National Highways. The local meteorological office has issued warnings of low to moderate flash flood risks affecting six out of the 12 districts in the state.

The meteorological office specifically highlighted the risk of flash floods in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Kinnaur until Thursday. A 'yellow' alert has been issued for heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning in isolated areas of the state on Wednesday.

Himachal Pradesh has experienced persistent rainfall, with notable recordings in Kasauli (88 mm), Dharamshala (75.6 mm), and Shimla (54.1 mm). The National Highways 707 and 5 have also been blocked, further exacerbating the situation.

The State Emergency Operation Centre's data indicates that multiple roads and bridges have been closed or damaged, and numerous power and water supply schemes have been disrupted. Since the monsoon's onset on June 27, the state has encountered a rainfall deficit and significant financial losses due to rain-related incidents.
