The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has called for e-tenders to establish 99 new surface parking sites across various zones, aimed at easing traffic congestion in the city, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.

In the project's first phase, fifteen new parking locations have been identified, including areas such as the Bawana industrial area, Narela industrial area, and near the IIT gate at Jia Sarai.

Collectively, these new sites will be able to accommodate a total of 2,890 cars and 1,493 two-wheelers, the statement added. The MCD, which operates over 400 parking sites in the capital, noted that the tender period for these sites will be for three years initially, which could be extended by two years based on mutual agreement. The final date for bid submissions is September 23.
