An eight-year-old boy was among two fatalities resulting from Russian strikes on Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region overnight. A missile attack also killed one person in the central city of Dnipro, as confirmed by Ukrainian officials.

The Russian assault targeted railway infrastructure in two regions and an energy facility in Chernihiv. An overnight strike on a Zaporizhzhia hotel complex killed a woman and her son, leaving her husband and teenage daughter injured, with the latter in intensive care.

Anna Savchenko, a gas station employee near the hotel, recounted the explosion, saying, "We did not have time to hide anywhere. We heard a very powerful explosion and people screaming." Ukrainian air force reported downing 27 out of 35 drones during the attacks, which also saw four missiles launched.

Reuters could not independently verify these claims, with no immediate response from Russia. Moscow denies targeting civilians following its 2022 invasion. Ukraine's energy ministry reported injuries to three employees in an attack on an energy facility in Chernihiv. Railways in Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions were also struck.
