In a devastating turn of events, 15 people have lost their lives in Andhra Pradesh over the past three days due to rain-related incidents, following heavy rainfall caused by a depression in the Bay of Bengal, government officials confirmed on Monday.

An official release elaborated that five individuals lost their lives in Mogalrajapuram, Vijayawada due to landslides. Additional deaths were recorded in various districts including Vijayawada Rural, G Kondru mandal, and Reddygudem mandal, all part of NTR district.

Tragedy struck Guntur district as well, claiming five lives including a teacher and two students who were washed away while traveling from Uppalapadu to Namburu. An 80-year-old woman was also killed in Mangalagiri town when boulders fell on her. Moreover, one person was swept away by the Kondaveedu stream in Ponnekallu village. In another sorrowful incident, three children drowned while swimming in Prakasam district's Markapuram division.
