Two leopards were sighted in the Pilibhit and Rampur districts, prompting panic among residents, officials reported on Friday.

The Pilibhit Tiger Reserve's Deputy Director, Manish Singh, disclosed that one leopard emerged from the reserve and was seen in a nearby sugarcane field. Immediate measures were taken to ensure the animal was safely returned to the forest to avoid any human-animal conflicts.

In Rampur, residents of Jamuna Jamuni village are also on edge due to leopard sightings near farmlands and domestic animal areas. The local forest department, led by Divisional Forest Officer Rajiv Kumar, has set up a cage and is actively monitoring the situation to capture the leopard safely.
