Otis India Expands Bengaluru Facility to Boost Infrastructure Growth

Otis India has expanded its Bengaluru manufacturing facility, doubling its escalator production capacity and increasing overall manufacturing capacity by 20%. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for elevators and escalators in India's residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors, and will support the rapid pace of urbanization.

Otis India, a subsidiary of Otis Worldwide Corporation, has announced a significant expansion of its Bengaluru manufacturing facility. The expansion doubles the escalator manufacturing capacity and increases the overall production capacity by 20%, aiming to meet the rising demand for elevators and escalators in India.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Judy Marks, Otis Chair, CEO and President, emphasized the company's longstanding partnership with India, dating back to 1892. Marks highlighted that this investment strengthens Otis's commitment to the Indian market and supports urbanization efforts.

Sebi Joseph, Otis India President, noted that the expanded facility will support critical infrastructure projects such as metro systems in Bengaluru, Bhopal, and Indore. The initiative also includes leveraging digital innovations to enhance factory productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
