Gujarat has been severely impacted by relentless rain over the past three days, resulting in seven fatalities and forcing more than 6,000 people to seek refuge in safer areas.
Heavy showers have pounded the state, flooding low-lying areas and raising water levels in rivers and dams, according to officials. On Monday, fatalities were recorded across several districts due to incidents such as wall collapses and drowning.
Authorities have been on high alert, relocating residents from at-risk regions in the face of ongoing heavy rainfall forecasted by the India Meteorological Department. Significant rainfalls have already been confirmed by the State Emergency Operation Centre, signaling a challenging period ahead for Gujarat.
