Rescue operations are ongoing in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district after a cloudburst caused flash floods, resulting in the recovery of two bodies, including that of a 12-year-old boy, on Tuesday, according to officials.

The cloudburst hit the Panchayats Kumate, Dhraman, and Halla in Rajgarh tehsil late Monday, leading to flash floods in the Tanger and Dadi streams. Seven individuals from different families were reported missing, Tehsildar Rajgarh Major Singh told PTI.

Despite continuous rain hampering efforts, the rescue team, comprising the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police, and volunteers, managed to retrieve the bodies of Yasir Ahmad (20) and Khalid Ahmed Parihar (12). Rescue attempts are ongoing for the remaining five people. The floods also damaged at least two government schools and multiple structures, and washed away three private vehicles.
