Tragic Collapse: Five Killed in Indore Resort Construction Accident Amid Heavy Rains
Five individuals, including four labourers and their contractor, lost their lives after an under-construction cottage roof collapsed in Indore district during heavy rains. Five individuals, four labourers and their contractor, were tragically killed as the roof of an under-construction cottage at a resort collapsed amidst heavy rains in Indore district, police confirmed on Friday.
The incident occurred in Choral village, Mhow tehsil, approximately 40km from district headquarters, on Thursday night. The victims were sleeping under the newly constructed concrete slab when it suddenly gave way, trapping them underneath.
The police, alerted at around 6:30 am, swiftly initiated a rescue mission. Indore (Rural) Superintendent of Police Hitika Wasal, on site, stated that the operation concluded with the recovery of five bodies. An investigation has been launched. Initial observations indicated that the resort’s structures appeared fragile. The quality of construction work is under scrutiny. Local authorities, including Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, expressed condolences and announced financial assistance for the victims' families.
