In a startling turn of events, residents of Edakkal in Kerala's landslide-prone Wayanad district reported hearing mysterious noises emanating from beneath the earth on Friday. The unsettling phenomenon has led to widespread panic among the local population.
Credible sources from within the community stated that the noise was not only loud but also accompanied by a sensation resembling a quake. This prompted an immediate investigation by government authorities and the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA). Despite extensive checks, the KSDMA confirmed that seismic records have not shown any significant movements thus far.
According to a local panchayat ward member, the strange noise was heard around 10:15 AM. As a precautionary measure, all schools in the affected area have been temporarily closed until further notice.
