The Met office in Himachal Pradesh issued an 'orange' warning on Thursday, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated locations over the weekend.
The agency cautioned about a low to moderate risk of flash floods in the districts of Sirmaur, Chamba, Shimla, Kullu, and Mandi over the next 24 hours, influenced by an active monsoon current.
Recent rains led to the closure of 109 roads and disrupted 58 power and 15 water supply schemes. Strong winds and waterlogging have posed threats to vulnerable structures and low-lying areas.
