Tarang Shakti, India's largest multilateral air exercise, will feature air forces from the US, Germany, France, and numerous other countries, according to a top Indian Air Force (IAF) official. The event aims to demonstrate India's defence strength and enhance interoperability among participant nations.
Scheduled in two phases, the first phase will take place in Sulur, Tamil Nadu, from August 6-14, and the second phase in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from August 29-September 14. Despite invitations to 51 countries, around 30 will participate in the exercise, while Russia and Israel will not be present due to ongoing conflicts and other reasons.
The exercise will feature India's LCA Tejas, Mirage 2000, and Rafale aircraft, along with aircraft from foreign participants including France's Rafale, Germany's Typhoon, and Australia's F-18. The event underscores India's commitment to 'Atmanirbharta' in defence and aims to bolster international strategic relationships through complex mission simulations, mutual understanding, and sharing of best practices.
