CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Tuesday conveyed his sorrow regarding the devastating landslides in Kerala's Wayanad district, which have claimed at least 57 lives.
The landslides, triggered by relentless heavy rains, have left hundreds feared trapped under debris, although official confirmation is still pending.
Yechury stressed the importance of immediate Union Government assistance to support Kerala's efforts to prevent further loss of life. Wayanad villages such as Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha remain severely affected and isolated due to the landslides.
