Tragic School Van Accident Claims Two Young Lives in Uttar Pradesh

A tragic incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Phephana area where a pickup van carrying school students collided with a parked truck, resulting in two fatalities and 13 injuries. The victims were aged between 12 and 17 years. Authorities have reported the driver's loss of control as the cause.

Two school students lost their lives, and 13 others were injured when their pickup van collided with a parked truck in the Phephana area of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning, according to officials.

The victims, ranging in age from 12 to 17 years, were students of a private school, Ballia District Magistrate (DM) Praveen Kumar informed PTI.

Police reported that the driver of the overspeeding van lost control, leading to the collision near Kapuri Narayanpur village on the Ballia-Phephana road.

Yash Pratap Singh (16) died instantly, while Vishal Pratap Singh (17) succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital, the DM added.

The injured were swiftly taken to the district hospital, with authorities noting that two students remain in critical condition. Senior police and administrative officers visited the hospital to oversee the situation.
