An official confirmed that on Saturday, the fire brigade recovered the body of 26-year-old Akshay Salunkhe, who was swept away by floodwaters in Pune on July 24.

As per reports, Salunkhe's body was discovered under the Dengale bridge, raising the death toll to six in Pune's rain-related incidents this week. Fire department officials noted the challenging conditions, with increased water discharge from the Khadakwasla dam hampering initial rescue efforts.

The torrential downpours had caused the Mutha river to flood, affecting low-lying areas and necessitating evacuations by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Despite intensified search efforts by several fire department teams, Salunkhe could not be found until Saturday morning.
