The presidential office announced the suspension of classes at all levels and halted operations in most government offices across the capital region, which comprises 16 cities and houses at least 13 million residents, as a precaution due to the tropical storm.

Additionally, the country's central bank declared a cessation of foreign exchange trading for the day.
