Siddhant Vitthal Patil, a 26-year-old Indian IT professional, tragically drowned while hiking in Glacier National Park, Montana. Patil, who worked in California, was on vacation with friends when he fell into Avalanche Creek on June 6. Despite extensive search efforts by park authorities, his body remains unfound.

The incident occurred on the Avalanche Lake Trail, where Patil fell off a large rock into the creek. Friends witnessed him go underwater before being swept away by the current. Rangers suspect his body is trapped by submerged obstacles, such as fallen trees. Aerial and drone searches have been unsuccessful in locating the body.

Originally from Maharashtra, Patil moved to the US in 2020 for his MS at UCLA and started working with Cadence Design Systems in 2023. He texted his mother two hours before the incident, promising to return home in three days. As efforts continue, his family remains in shock, awaiting any updates.
