An initiative by the Anil Agarwal Foundation has injected a significant Rs 100 crores into boosting animal welfare efforts in Haryana. This funding came into effect Thursday through a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Gurugram. As per the official statement, The Animal Care Organization (TACO) is set to transform the Government Veterinary Hospital in Gurugram into a 24x7 multi-speciality animal hospital. Additionally, the initiative includes constructing an animal birth control (ABC) unit, laboratory, pharmacy, training center, and a shelter for extremely critical animals, spread over a 2-acre facility in Kadipur, Gurugram.

Furthermore, TACO will deploy an ambulance and advanced mobile health van to provide emergency care services at the doorstep of those in need. Chief Minister Saini emphasized that this effort, along with previous initiatives like the Faridabad shelter, will considerably enhance veterinary care services across Haryana. He also directed officers to elevate care services within cow shelters.
