The repair work on the breached portion of the Munak canal sub branch is expected to be completed by Thursday night, according to Water Minister Atishi. Four water treatment plants were affected by the breach.

Minister Atishi, who inspected the site, announced that an inquiry will be conducted by both Delhi and Haryana authorities once the emergency is under control. The breach, which occurred between midnight and 2 am on Thursday, caused flooding in areas of Bawana.

The Munak canal is maintained by Haryana, with both Haryana's Irrigation department and Delhi Jal Board at the site for repair efforts. Water flow was diverted to another sub-branch to stop flooding. The embankment will be rebuilt, and water supply may resume by Friday afternoon.

Several water treatment plants, including those in Dwarka, Hyderpur, Bawana, and Nangloi, were impacted partially or completely. Atishi reported that mobile pumps were deployed to remove floodwaters, and electricity in flooded areas was cut off to prevent electrocution. Normalcy is expected by evening.
