Elon Musk-owned SpaceX is preparing for the first flight test of its fully integrated Starship and Super Heavy rocket. The launch is scheduled for Monday, April 17 at 8:00 a.m. CT from Starbase, a private spaceport located in Boca Chica, Texas.
The Starship and Super Heavy rocket are designed to be a fully reusable transportation system that will eventually transport people and cargo to the Earth's orbit, Moon, Mars, and beyond. The Starship is a spacecraft that will carry passengers and cargo, while the Super Heavy rocket is a powerful rocket that will provide the necessary thrust to lift the Starship off the ground and into orbit.
If successful, the Starship and Super Heavy rocket could open up a new era of space exploration, allowing humans to travel further and faster than ever before.
SpaceX will provide a live webcast of the upcoming Starship flight test. The webcast is scheduled to begin approximately 45 minutes before liftoff, providing viewers with an opportunity to witness the launch and follow the spacecraft as it ascends to its target altitude and then returns to Earth.
