The Deputy Prime Minister of Romania, Ana Birchall expressed on March 11 in Angola’s capital city Luanda her country’s intention to relaunch cooperation with the Angolan authorities, particularly in the fields of education and trade.

This fact was told to journalists by Ana Birchall, after the audience granted by the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, during which they analyzed the support of Angola to the candidacy of Romania to a permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations, among other subjects.

Regarding the position of Angola to the candidacy of that country of the central-east European to permanent member of the UN Security Council, the deputy prime minister of Romania informed to have received full support from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

In order to mobilize support for Romania's candidacy as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Ana Birchall was in South Africa and Namibia.

Meanwhile, the Angolan Head of State also received in audience the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Timo Soini, with whom he addressed issues related to the increase of bilateral cooperation in the Telecommunications, Commerce and Agriculture sectors.

Timo Soini told journalists that the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country that shared a long border with Angola and held presidential elections last December, was also analyzed at the audience.
