French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot has urged both the United States and Iran to seize a historic opportunity to finalize a peace agreement. This call to action comes as discussions reportedly near completion, according to a senior U.S. administration official.
In an interview with LCI, Barrot emphasized the urgency of resolving the situation, which he described as unsustainable and detrimental. 'We call on both sides to seize this opportunity,' he stated, reflecting sentiments he relayed to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
Barrot revealed encouraging developments during his Friday morning conversation with Araqchi. 'I am cautious, but the positive signs are accumulating,' he noted, indicating a mutual willingness from both nations to reach an agreement.
