In a decisive victory, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) once again secured the Rahuri assembly seat in Maharashtra on Monday. Akshay Kardile, representing the BJP, triumphed over Govind Mokate of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) with a substantial lead of over 1.12 lakh votes.
The by-election for this seat, in Ahilyanagar district, was held following the demise of Shivajirao Kardile, the previous MLA and father of the winning candidate. The election results mark a continued period of BJP influence in the region.
According to the official records provided by the Election Commission of India, Akshay Kardile amassed a total of 1,40,093 votes against Mokate's 27,506. This emphatic victory underscores BJP's strong foothold in the constituency.
