The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Kumar as the counting observer for the Barrackpore-Dumdum organisational district, in preparation for the West Bengal Assembly election results on May 4.
This decision was made during a virtual meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, with party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and several other leaders in attendance. The meeting focused on briefing counting agents about the party's electoral strategy.
The leadership has implemented a plan to appoint observers across organisational districts to oversee the counting process, following strategies used in previous elections. Other notable appointments include Satabdi Roy for Birbhum, actor-MP Deepak Adhikari (Dev) for Ghatal, and actor MP June Malia for Medinipur. It also marks Rajeev Kumar’s first organisational task after his nomination to the Rajya Sabha and transition into active politics.
