The Punjab Police has removed the security detail of Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, following his defection from AAP to BJP, according to sources.
The security, initially comprising 9-10 officers, was reassigned from Singh's Jalandhar residence on Saturday. Conversely, Central Reserve Police now patrol his premises.
Amidst these developments, AAP activists staged protests and labeled Singh, among others, as 'traitor' for their political shift. The political rift has prompted strong accusations against the BJP by AAP leaders alleging betrayal.
