At least 13 people were killed and 17 wounded in an explosives attack in western Colombia, police reported. The violence occurred on the Pan-American Highway, blamed on dissident members of the FARC guerrilla group.
Cauca Governor Octavio Guzman urged national intervention, citing an escalation of terrorist actions in the province, particularly in the Cajibio municipality area.
Presidential candidate Paloma Valencia condemned the violence, calling on President Gustavo Petro to take stronger actions and offer full support to local armed forces to curb the unrest.
