Trump Rejects Iranian Peace Proposal, Cites Nuclear Concerns
President Trump dismissed a new peace proposal from Iran, stating it fell short of US demands, especially on nuclear issues. The initial proposal was quickly replaced by an improved version, yet negotiations were halted due to logistical issues and lack of direct talks with Iranian leadership.
President Donald Trump has turned down a fresh peace proposal from Iran, calling it insufficient, particularly on the nuclear front, as he remains firm that Iran should not develop nuclear weapons.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One, Trump noted that the Iranians quickly revised their offer when the U.S. dismissed the initial proposal.
He highlighted logistical concerns and the absence of face-to-face engagement with Iran’s leadership as reasons for halting the latest round of negotiations.
