In a bold statement, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday expressed his personal opinion that the RSS should be banned. He attributed the majority of the nation's law and order issues to the BJP-RSS nexus.
Kharge also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of disrespecting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's legacy by allowing government employees to associate with the Sangh. He cited Patel's historical remarks condemning the RSS after Mahatma Gandhi's assassination in 1948.
Speaking on Patel's birth anniversary, Kharge drew attention to Patel's contributions to India's unity and criticized what he sees as efforts to revive divisive politics that threaten national harmony.
