In a move reminiscent of past political controversies, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has called for special security for comedian Kunal Kamra, following multiple legal complaints over his comments on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Addressing the media, Raut drew parallels between Kamra's situation and that of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who received state protection after clashing with Shiv Sena. Meanwhile, complaints against Kamra have arisen from various quarters, escalating tensions.
The Mumbai police have summoned Kamra multiple times for questioning, as legal actions accumulate. Recently, the Madras High Court extended interim anticipatory bail to Kamra, considering threats he purportedly received after his satirical remarks.
