Rajasthan Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Saturday delivered a sharp rebuke to Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman over his controversial comments about Rana Sanga, a revered Rajput figure. Rathore described Suman's remarks as an extension of 'shallow politics,' asserting that such freedom of speech is rooted in the sacrifices of historic warriors.

'It is unfortunate that he insults our warriors to further his shallow politics,' Rathore told ANI. 'He enjoys freedom today because of their sacrifices. Our culture, customs, and democracy thrive because of them.' Rathore confidently added that the public would eventually reject Suman's rhetoric through democratic means.

The incident has stirred political tensions, witnessing protests by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Lucknow. BSP Chief Mayawati also condemned Suman's actions, taking to social media to accuse the Samajwadi Party of engaging in divisive politics. Suman's comments, which portrayed Rana Sanga as treacherous, have incited violence, with his residence in Agra coming under attack.
