The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday leveled accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, labeling them as 'anti-Dalit'. The BJP claimed AAP underused welfare scheme funds meant for Dalits, while Congress introduced a 4% allocation for Muslims in Karnataka, allegedly infringing on Scheduled Caste rights.
Addressing the media at BJP headquarters, spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia criticized AAP's previous government in Delhi for reducing and underutilizing funds meant for Dalit welfare, such as the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas scheme. He also highlighted AAP's failure to appoint a promised Dalit deputy chief minister in Punjab.
Bhatia further accused Congress of appeasement politics with its reservation policy for Muslims in Karnataka's civil works, questioning its consistency with the Indian Constitution. He argued the move undermines the rights of backward communities and questioned why similar provisions were not extended to other minority religions.
