On Friday, BJP's national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia lauded the Delhi budget unveiled by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. He commended its fresh perspective and dedication to the commitments outlined in the Sankalp Patra, expressing pride in the new approach it symbolizes.
A key feature of the budget is the allocation of Rs 5100 crore to empower women by providing them Rs 2500 monthly. This significant move underscores the government's focus on women's empowerment as a central budgetary priority.
Bhatia also criticized the preceding AAP administration for poor fund utilization regarding SC colonies, highlighting that only Rs 50 lakh of a Rs 65 crore budget was used. The 'Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana' also failed to utilize its Rs 70 crore allocation, suggesting inefficacy in governance.
He further condemned the AAP government, accusing leader Arvind Kejriwal of waste and corruption. In contrast, Gupta's budget has revamped strategy to transform Delhi into an investment-friendly city, with a considerable rise of 31.58 per cent from last year's allocations directed at various developmental sectors.
