On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced deep concern over the intense earthquake that recently struck Myanmar and Thailand, causing disruptions and concerns across the region. Modi assured that India is on standby, ready to extend its full support to the affected nations.
The earthquake significantly shook many areas in Thailand, notably in the capital city of Bangkok, which is set to host next week's BIMSTEC summit. This regional gathering is crucial, as it aims to foster collaboration among member nations with Modi and other leaders in attendance.
Following the tremors, Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has convened an emergency meeting to evaluate the quake's impact. The BIMSTEC group, comprising seven countries, will deliberate on strategies to enhance cooperation during the forthcoming summit.
