The Tamil Nadu Assembly session on Friday saw dramatic scenes as AIADMK members were evicted en masse. This followed a disruption immediately after the Question Hour, sparked by a disagreement over speaking rights for Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Speaker M Appavu insisted that Palaniswami could address the House only with prior permission, a decision met with strong objections from the opposition. The Speaker, however, remained unyielding, proceeding to facilitate Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's response to the assembly.
The situation escalated when AIADMK members, refusing to relent, caused a disruption. Consequently, Speaker Appavu directed the marshals to evict the disruptive members from the proceedings, marking a notable incident in Tamil Nadu's legislative history.
