Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, pointing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reliance on two allies as a blow to his ambitious 400-seat majority claim. Kharge made these remarks while addressing District Congress Committee Presidents in New Delhi.

Kharge spotlighted the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, during which the Congress Party captured nearly 100 seats, limiting the BJP to 240 seats. He emphasized the role of the united INDIA Bloc in restraining BJP's dominance and discussed the Congress's 'Save Constitution' campaign that unveiled BJP-RSS's alleged secret intentions. "Today, the BJP is short of a majority, depending on two allies. A Prime Minister who arrogantly claimed 400 seats was dealt a significant blow by us," stated Kharge.

He underscored the need for unity, strategic focus on economic challenges, and defending marginalized communities. He urged district leaders to mobilize grassroots support, stating, "Your role is crucial; you're our generals on the ground." Kharge also criticized growing unemployment, inflation, and counter-tariffs imposed by countries like the USA, urging Congress leaders to demand that discourse stay centered on pressing issues.
