The Sikkim Assembly on Thursday efficiently passed a motion of thanks for the governor's address, sidestepping any debate among the members. This exhibition of legislative efficiency marks a significant development in local governance.
In addition to the motion, the House approved the annual demands for grants for the fiscal year 2025-2026, encompassing key sectors such as Tourism, Civil Aviation, Commerce & Industries, Public Health Engineering, and several social welfare departments. The decision aims to bolster infrastructure and public services in the region.
The assembly also made strides in higher education by clearing Bills for the establishment of three new private universities, signaling a positive shift towards expanding educational opportunities in the state.
