In a violent episode that paralyzed Bhatpara, West Bengal, unidentified attackers hurled bombs and fired shots outside the home of BJP leader Arjun Singh late Wednesday. The attack resulted in injuries to a youth and has heightened political tensions in the region as rival accusations fly.
Authorities report the violence stemmed from a dispute at Meghna Jute Mill. Following the attack, Arjun Singh was summoned for questioning, but a police complaint he filed was reportedly not acted upon. The police, who have increased security measures, recovered several weapons from the scene.
As accusations of instigating the violence intensify between Singh and TMC representatives, particularly concerning a confrontation involving TMC councillor Sunita Singh's son, the police face mounting pressure to reign in the discord. The community remains tense but under control, with ongoing efforts to prevent further violence.
