The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Vijayapura, for a period of six years due to repeated breaches of party discipline.

Yatnal had been served notices twice before being removed from the party, with the final decision announced after a thorough evaluation by the party's Central Disciplinary Committee.

The committee, upon reviewing Yatnal's responses to previous show cause notices, decided on this course of action citing serious violations despite his promises to adhere to party principles. Consequently, he has been stripped of his primary membership and any positions held within the party.
